False half-time report for Zopiclone occurs in Sweden

This is the Medical Examiner's opinion in the case. The beginning of this. It is claimed that the half-life value for Zopiclone is 6.5 hours, when it is known that it can be significantly higher for the elderly in particular. Other countries acknowledge that the half-life value can be higher. But Sweden is so fixated on what the authorities claim that everyone with a value of Zopiclone in their blood has made a CRIMINAL mistake. This is certainly despite what the elderly claim is right. The authorities are always right in Sweden. It also depends on how the individual takes their medication. For those who take longer, the value seems to rise. They will also have increasingly longer time before sleep sets in. Medical examiners do not take such things into account.
All people who have a value are accused by Coroner of making a mistake. That is not the case. But it is possible to accuse in Sweden. For those affected, who are usually elderly, this is a terrible experience. For many, the last thing in their lives.
Differences between individuals are 1:3, which the Coroner doesn't care about.
Why don't you listen to what the elderly themselves claim? The Swedish justice system is so fixated on finding someone to punish. Everything that ends in a verdict is a plus. The truth is uninteresting. Then the Prosecution Authority silences all attempts to claim that the justice system made a mistake.
Now prison awaits and 1.5 years without a driver's license, which makes life impossible and desperate then innocent.
Summary of why older people have longer elimination half-lives, This must be respected. Perhaps the most important thing in general. There are not many trials with older people. It seems to happen a lot at age 65-70. The half-life value that the Coroner refers to applies up to 65 years. Then it's about how to take the drug. Many take long periods.
With Zopiclone, the half-life is risky. This is how it can be explained: Elimination from the body is calculated as 3 - 5 x half-life At half-life 6.5h, then most of it disappears from the body during the day: 3-5 x 6.5h ≈ 19.5 - 32.5h At half-life 8h, then a lot disappears from the body during 2 days: 3-5 x 8.0h ≈ 24.0 - 40h At half-life 9h, then more and more disappears from the body during 2 days: 3-5 x 9.0h ≈ 27.0 - 45h At half-life 10h, then a lot disappears from the body during a little more than 2 days: 3-5 x 10.0h ≈ 30.0 - 50h With the picture illustrated above. So the value rises night after night. The higher the half-life value, the faster. When your own case passes 50ng/g after 5 nights, your own half-life value must be high. To deny that the values can be 8-9 h is unreasonable. If the half-life for people with liver failure can be at this level up to 12 hours and the difference to healthy people is +40%, the half-life for these people must be 8.5 hours. Which is exactly what many claim. See below.

Distribution
"With age, body fat generally increases and total body water decreases. Increased fat increases the volume of distribution for highly lipophilic drugs (eg, diazepam, chlordiazepoxide) and may meaningfully increase their elimination half-lives."
Därför är eliminering något som går allt långsammare med åldern.
This is the result of the experiment carried out by J. Gaillot in 1987. Characterized by the fact that a large number of elderly people were involved in the experiment. It was found that they receive high values. Why this experiment was dismissed is incomprehensible. It was correct. But the interpretation is a bit puzzling.

The efficacy and safety of zolpidem and zopiclone to treat insomnia in Alzheimer’s disease: a randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Detta är ett stort amerikanskt försök med många äldre. Mycket trovärdigt.
"Furthermore, the half-life of zopiclone is longer in older adults (≈8h) than i healthy young adults (3.5-6.5h). Therefore, age may have potentiated the effects of zopiclone (in relation to zolpidem) on sleep and other outcomes."

This shows above all that variation is possible. That it is therefore questionable to take something as for granted as the Coroner does. Editor for this is Maren Cecilie Stand, Oslo University Hospital Research. Publishes this diagram ”Calculated elimination half-lives (hours)”.

Experiencing this was an awakening, that what J. Gaillot reported in 1987 was correct. But still not everyone has wanted to accept this.
WHO refer to J. Gaillot on Zopiclone. There is a ban on copying any part of the document. This is from 2022. On page 10 section B it is mentioned that the half-life value for the elderly can be 8h.

Detta är ju samlad kunskap, Inte mindre trovärdigt än mycket annat.

Surprised that the Swedish Medical Products Agency has a half-life value of 7.0h.
Where on earth did they get that from?
Finally, my own blood test. Since I had to drive and knew the results would be over the limit for serious drug driving if I brought my doctor's prescription. I chose to take it night after night, reducing it to 1/4 x 7.5 mg. This every night except the last. The test took 13.5 hours after the last intake.
